Tunics of all shapes and sizes made a little appearance on this year’s SS 2013 runways. From floaty and luxurious fabrics to more structured shapes, the obvious re-occurring theme was the fact that they were all worn over pants creating a some what 70’s sleek and sophisticated look.

If you’re on the petite side and worried that this look might completely swallow you up, try wearing a slightly more tailored tunic over your pants and don’t forget your heels to elongate your legs. I remember wearing dresses over pants in the 90’s and loved the fact that I could create the illusion of being taller with my platform shoes hidden secretly under my wide legged jeans. The cute tunic over the top would also discretely cover any lumps, bumps or bloating, a win-win from top to bottom!

Hmmm…. Come to think of it, I think I’m actually  looking forward to experimenting with this look again!

A white eyeliner pencil is the surprisingly versatile makeup product you probably never knew you needed. Kim Kardashian has been wearing it for years, and recently it was white eyeliner that was a stand out makeup trend on the Spring 2013 international runways.

Investing in a white eye liner pencil gives you countless options in what you can do. Here are 5 tips for making your white eyeliner investment worth while…
1. White eyeliner on the inner waterline of the eye brightens the eyes making them appear larger

2. For a quick wake-me-up, a v-shape application in the corner of the eyes will brighten and make the eyes look more vibrant and awake.

3. Use under the brows and then smudge to highlight. This will define and lift the brow.

4. Use white eyeliner as a base for your eye shadow. This will make the eyeshadow colour appear more vibrant and true to colour.

5. Use your white eyeliner pencil as a concealer to cover red spots. Colour over the blemish and then blend with your proper concealer to give better coverage.

I’ve always been a fan of Shona Joy. These pieces from the current summer collection have really caught my eye though. I love the classic well-structured simplicity. With so many loud prints and bold colours everywhere right now, these dresses are a nice breath of fresh air.

All 3 dresses could be worn from work to cocktails and everything in between. My favourite would have to be the Valley of Neptune Shirt Dress, so beautifully tailored, the gold clasp at the neck and panel detailing add a subtle yet eye catching edge. Classic yet effortlessly chic, you wouldn’t need to worry about accessorising, this dress would do all the talking.

Technology merged with fashion late last year when Diane von Furstenberg road tested one of Google’s new projects, Google Glass.

Diane von Furstenberg who is known for her innovation and effortless design, wore the Google glasses in the week leading up to her Spring 2013 show in New York and during the show itself, capturing a birds eye view of her creative process. Models also wore the glasses for the show, one model turning on Google Glass’s video-recording function to capture her own view of the runway.

The augmented reality-enhanced glasses have many functions such as users being able to take pictures and record video, receive messages, check calendars, get weather updates and see messages from their friends.  And that’s just the features that Google has released so far!

Google Glass is said to be available to the public by late 2013, what do you think? Is the fashion world ready for something like this yet?

My home office is in desperate need of a makeover. My “creative space” right now is definitely more of a crazy space so I’ve been on the search for some inspiration to help me De-clutter, switch on creativity and increase productivity.

If you’re feeling like you’re in the same boat, these office inspiration photos might help get you started. Quirky and simple, it doesn’t have to cost you a fortune to create a more functional, organized and fun office.

Ideas that I’m going to try…

• Small items can cause some of the biggest clutter. I love the idea of using a three-tier basket to store the little bits-and-pieces.

• Write each day of the week on a peg and clip together ‘to do’ notes, bills and other paper work for each particular day it needs to be done.

• Recycle my cans and cover them with left over wrapping paper for pen holders. I might even install screws through the back of the cans and attach them to my wall!

• I don’t have a cupboard to do this but if I did, I do love the cupboard-turned-office idea by taking off the cupboard doors and installing a desk. If I were going to do this I’d brighten things up by lining the inside wall of the cupboard with cute printed wallpaper!

• I’m going to brighten my walls by covering my cork boards with cute printed fabric.
