Fallen-By-Lauren-KateSince the phenomenon of Twilight took over my life in 2008 (I can't believe that was over a year ago!) I'm almost a little embarrassed to admit that I now have continuous addiction to young adult fiction. At my age I should probably be reading more "intellectually stimulating" literature, however there's something about this style of book, that to put it simply, at the end of a busy day just allows my mind to so easily escape & relax.

One to always have 2 - 3 books on my bedside table, my stack these days could easily be mistaken for my either of my teenage daughter's, and to be honest each book in our house is read by all 3 of us, always causing arguments over who will get to read it first.

I'm very aware that since the Twilight Saga, many 30 & 40 something Mum's have found themselves in the same predicament, thus I'm not going to be too hard on myself. I'm actually thoroughly enjoying this new trend in young forbidden romance with a supernatural twist. All the vampires, demon hunters and angels make a good romance story so much more exciting!

The first in a series of 4 books, Fallen is no exception and I must say it didn't take long before I was totally consumed in the slightly dark love story between seventeen year old Lucinda and Daniel (who is hiding quite a secret). They have both spent multiple lifetimes finding and losing each other, unable to break their tortuous cycle.

It seems that fallen angels are the new vampire and Lauren Kate's beautiful way of writing and depicting her characters makes the book completely addictive. I can't wait until the next book is released!
