Designer Inspiration with Tamika Rudd of Bardot
Mylookbook Issue - June 2009
What were your Influences & Inspirations for the Winter 09 Bardot collection? We were loving the look of jersey and relaxed silhouettes, layered with leather jackets or a boyfriend blazer, with ultra skinny leg jeans or harem pants. What Colours/ Combinations or patterns are you loving now? Charcoal, blacks and creams work well for winter days. Sequin detail creates colour and makes the outfit so easy to transform from day to night! Graphic tees are a great way to add a splash of colour! Who are your Celebrity (Past or Present) Style Inspirations? Nicole Richie and Kate Moss How would you explain the whole style or feel of Bardot in general? Fashion forward trends that are unique, sexy and sophisticated. Denim is always a huge influence in Bardot’s style with a huge range of styles, washes and cuts. What do you do to get inspired? Flick through my favorite mags - see what the celebrities are wearing and surf the net to check out the latest global catwalks Favorite pieces from the current Bardot Range and why? I can’t move past our knitted jean, they are as comfy as a legging with the look of a Bardot Jean - fantastic on the couch or dance floor! I own every colour. I’m also loving my ripped worn wash jeans right now! Anyone personally who inspires and why? My friends and work colleagues are great for inspiration! Other favourite designers? Chloe and Balmain Winter 09 must have item? Leather Jacket - great to layer over everything and so easy to dress up or down!
